Editing Services

I offer the following services:

Proofreading: a final quality check on a near-finished draft. This service includes a detailed review of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting consistency with no major rewrites.

Copyediting: a review of grammar and mechanic plus clarity, flow, consistency, and tone. This review may involve word choice improvements.

Line editing: sentence-level refinement for such aspects as rhythm, tone, voice, and stylistic strength. This is a heavier edit than a copyedit, but not as heavy as a full developmental edit.

Developmental editing: big-picture editing. I will examine organization, structure, clarity, flow, and narrative coherence. I will provide feedback on narrative pacing, character development, and plot points.

Formatting and Style Guide Services: applying specific style manuals (Chicago, APA, MLA) and formatting for publication. This service is available for white papers and academic papers only. Lengthier manuscripts are not eligible for this service, though I can make recommendations to other providers who can perform this service.
